Our School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme offers a practical, school-led route into teaching. Delivered in partnership with Teach First (Ofsted Outstanding), the programme allows you to train in real classrooms while working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE.
If you are looking for a rewarding career where you can make a real difference to children and young people in your local community, SCITT with Aletheia could be the right path for you.
What is SCITT?
SCITT stands for School-Centred Initial Teacher Training. It is a school-led alternative to traditional university-based teacher training, placing you at the heart of school life from the very start.
As a SCITT trainee, you will:
-
Train primarily in schools
-
Learn through hands-on classroom experience
-
Receive structured academic and professional training
-
Work towards QTS and a PGCE in one academic year
SCITT is ideal for those who want to learn on the job, develop confidence in the classroom, and be fully supported by experienced teachers and mentors.
