More Than an Internship. The Start of a Teaching Career.

Shaping futures and improving life chances for local children

At Aletheia Academies Trust, we believe great teachers change lives. That is why we are proud to be a Department for Education; selected partner delivering the Teaching Internship Programme across our family of local schools in Kent, Medway and Sevenoaks.

This immersive, paid internship is designed for students who are curious about teaching and want to experience the reality of the classroom before committing to a training route. It offers a meaningful opportunity to explore a career in education while making a tangible difference to the lives of local children.

Our structured, school-based programme places you at the heart of everyday school life. Over three weeks, you’ll gain first-hand experience of what it truly means to be a teacher—far beyond observation alone.

Supported by experienced mentors and senior leaders across our school partnership, you will:

  • Observe expert teaching in action

  • Co-teach and lead learning segments

  • Take part in subject-specific workshops

  • Engage in reflective practice and instructional coaching

Through deliberate practice and guided reflection, you’ll build confidence, refine your teaching techniques, and develop a clear understanding of a teacher’s professional responsibilities.

A clear pathway into teacher training

The Teaching Internship Programme is more than just experience; it is a stepping stone into Initial Teacher Training (ITT). By the end of the programme, you’ll be well equipped to make informed decisions about your future career in teaching.

Aletheia Academies Trust is proud to be a successful delivery partner for Ofsted Outstanding providers Teach First and Best Practice Network, offering strong progression routes for those ready to take the next step.

Earn while you learn

We believe your time and commitment matter. On successful completion of the full three-week internship, you will receive £1,365 (£455 per week) – allowing you to explore teaching without financial barriers.

Expert guidance, tailored to you

Our Central Team at Aletheia will support you throughout the process, helping you choose the right school placement and ITT programme to suit your strengths and aspirations.
