Laura’s career in education has spanned over twenty years to date; starting as a specialist in English and Drama, they have worked cross-phase to raise standards and foster a love for learning. A staunch advocate for professional development and academic rigour, Laura holds a Masters degree in Education from UCL and has completed National Professional Qualifications up to the Headship level (NPQH). Their expertise in leadership is further recognised by their role as an assessor, marking NPQs for other aspiring leaders.

Throughout their career, Laura has been a driving force in teacher development across the region. Having successfully run teaching schools in North Kent, they have supported over 40 local schools through executive coaching, mentoring, and the development of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). Their commitment to shaping the future of the profession includes working directly with universities on their ITT courses and being integral to Aletheia’s initial teacher training routes.

Currently serving as Assistant Head Teacher, Laura draws upon their experience as a former Head of English to lead on all school induction and comprehensive staff training, as well as supporting other colleagues and quality assuring a number of departments. She remains deeply involved in supporting the Aletheia ECT routes, ensuring that new staff are equipped with the evidence-based pedagogical skills required for success.
